1. What cookies are
Cookies and similar technologies are small files or identifiers placed on a device when you use a website or application. They can keep a service secure, remember choices, measure performance or support marketing.
2. Categories we may use
- Strictly necessary: security, session, load-balancing and consent-preference functions. These cannot normally be switched off.
- Functional: remember language, venue or interface preferences.
- Analytics: help us understand aggregate usage and improve pages, subject to consent where required.
- Marketing: measure campaigns or personalise advertising, used only with the consent required by law.
3. Your choices
Non-essential cookies should not be placed before your choice. Where a consent banner is available, you can accept, reject or customise categories and later change your decision. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser, although doing so may affect essential functionality.
4. Cookie list and lifespan
UpSalt stores the analytics choice in the browser's local storage under upsalt-analytics-consent; this preference is not sent as a cookie. When analytics are accepted and a Google Analytics measurement ID is configured, Google Analytics may set _ga and _ga_<container-id> cookies to distinguish usage sessions. Their typical maximum lifespan is two years and Google may update them when activity occurs. Analytics does not load before acceptance.
You can reopen Cookie settings from the website footer at any time. Rejecting analytics updates consent and attempts to remove UpSalt-domain Google Analytics cookies. Browser controls can also delete stored consent and cookies.
