A commitment, not an upfront charge

If the table requires €400, the guest commits to spend at least €400.

You set the amount in UpSalt and the guest sees it before selecting the table. Their card is secured as part of the booking. If the final restaurant bill does not reach the agreed minimum, an authorised team member can charge the eligible difference in line with the venue's disclosed terms.

Important limitation

Software supports the process; it does not remove operational responsibility.

UpSalt records the booking commitment; the venue still needs a clear operational process for applying the amount to the final bill and handling exceptions.

Feature FAQ

Questions to resolve before setup.

Visit the complete FAQ
01Can minimum spend vary by zone or date?

Yes. Rules can be configured around specific inventory, services and high-demand periods.

02Is a minimum spend the same as a deposit?

No. A deposit secures the booking; a minimum spend is a commercial commitment for the visit. The payment and refund treatment should be explained clearly.
