Booking lead time

The time between the moment a reservation is made and the guest's scheduled arrival.

Why it matters

How booking lead time affects a service

Lead time helps venues predict demand and choose appropriate rules for reminders, deposits and inventory release. Same-day diners behave differently from guests booking a celebration several weeks ahead.

Example

In practice

A booking created on 1 June for dinner on 15 June has a lead time of 14 days.
